Corbett National Park-Travelogue
My first experience of visiting Corbett National Park was extremely fulfilling. The reminiscence of that
beautiful place still resonate in me and I wish to go there again and again. I boarded a late night train
Ranikhet Express from Delhi and reached Kathgodam Junction early morning. It was Sepetember month
and the weather was very pleasant. The light morning breeze and hot tea at the railway station gave a
perfect start to our day. Right outside the station we were received by a wonderful driver who took us to
our destination Jim Corbett National Park. The driver made sure that we do not miss on any thrilling tale
about the national park. He also made sure that we do not miss on any sumptuous snack enroute. So we
stopped for some quick breakfast. Surrounded by lush green mountains on all four sides, eating the
national snack of India- Maggi and some hot delicious tea, listening to thrilling tiger attack tales in the
nearby villages enthralled us completely and filled us with excitement for our further tour.
We reached the resort late morning to some amazing brunch. After a dip in the pool and some fishing in Ramganga, we sat by the side of the river enjoying some moments of silence. After relaxing for a while we went for an elephant ride to the park. What a lovely journey! We experienced some absolutely adventurous moments at the back of the Jungle jumbo. Going through patches of grasslands, dense forested lands, open skies with ramganga trickling by the side and witnessing some amazing flora and fauna, what an absolute ecstasy! The jumbo dropped us to our resort and we relished some lip smacking dinner and bonfire dance under a vivid night sky.
Next morning after taking a dip in the resort pool and feasting on some healthy breakfast we made our way to the national park once again, this time with a gun carrying guy in an open jeep. The jeep driver made sure that we visit every nook and cranny of the forest to gratify our adrenaline and thrill quest.
One major takeaway from Jim Corbett National Park is the fabulous fable of Jim Corbett and other exciting stories that one gets to hear about this park rich with history and adventure alike.
We packed our bags after lunch and headed home with many many memories and a resolute wish to visit many more wildlife parks in India.
